are motherlove products non-gmo?
Motherlove’s dedication to consistent quality means crafting only the finest, purest products, and using certified organic ingredients designed to nurture, soothe and heal mothers on the all-important journey of nurturing life.
As part of that commitment we are fully supportive of efforts to eliminate genetically modified (GMO) ingredients from personal care and other products.
Motherlove does not use any GMO ingredients. Ever.
Here is a little more information about the certified organic and its relationship to GMOs.
The USDA explains:
The use of genetic engineering, or genetically modified organisms (GMOs), is prohibited in organic products. This means an organic farmer can’t plant GMO seeds, an organic cow can’t eat GMO alfalfa or corn, and an organic soup producer can’t use any GMO ingredients. To meet the USDA organic regulations, farmers and processors must show they aren’t using GMOs and that they are protecting their products from contact with prohibited substances, such as GMOs, from farm to table…Additionally, certifying agents conduct residue testing to determine if these preventive practices are adequate to avoid contact with substances such as prohibited pesticides, antibiotics, and GMOs.
Motherlove uses certified organic ingredients whenever possible and wild crafted herbs when organic is not available. Regardless of where an ingredient is sourced, we do not use GMO ingredients. Ever.
Non-GMO certification is helpful when a product is not organic, but when you see a certified organic seal, you can rest assured that a product is GMO-free.
Motherlove products are also free of synthetic and artificial ingredients. All have a rating of zero toxins (the best rating) on the Environmental Working Group’s Skin Deep database. We caution against the use of many common body care product ingredients.
You can trust Motherlove’s organic certification when looking for non-GMO products for you and your baby. It’s all part of our long tradition of creating only the finest, purest products to support your parenting journey.
